coi rodo .i mi'e .azet.
I've known about Lojban for at least a few years, but have only become serious about learning it since May (2005). The idea is to eventually have a non-English language to speak with a dear friend of mine--well, and to experiment with literary forms and learn to think in another language (since I'm not at all sure that I'll continue studying Russian). I [http://azetidine.net/kiri/ rite] [http://azetidine.net/wood-elf/tomarsgov.txt  little][[jbocre: *|*]], procrastinate a lot, and generally do my utmost to make things hard for myself.
I'm conflicted about which name I should use here in the community, since there's another rather famous Nora in Lojban mythology. ".azet." works, though it's not particularly elegant or poetic.
Also, I've been spending a good deal of time recently with this wiki. It seems to me that all this fuss about hardlinerism and fundamentalism and naturalism is inordinately silly; in response I merely pull up a chair, stand on it, and shout as James Madison must once have to the Virginia House of Burgesses:
"Look, guys--we've got to ''ratify'' the thing before we can ''change'' it!"
Get the language working--so that students of it (like me) can speak it/write in it and have discussions about it while using it, without worrying about not being understood for what amount to purely stylistic reasons. If anything, I want something solid to stand on; I want to be able to know what I need to know in order to have a good grip on the language. And ''then'' we can revise it.
If that makes any sense.
